CUHK Unmanned Systems Research (USR) aims to develop innovative autonomous systems, which include unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), and their integration with advanced AI techniques that enable unmanned systems in solving real-life problems, such as building, bridge, tunnel and environmental inspections and monitoring, search and rescue, security surveillance, and geographic mapping. Our focuses are on the development of (i) advanced hardware platforms and sensor suites; (ii) perception and localization systems; (iii) dynamic control systems; (iv) advanced motion and task planning systems; and (v) sophisticated data processing systems integrated with deep learning technqiues.
